Supreme Court to Hear Oral Arguments Via Phone

 Cases will resume in May.

The Supreme Court announced on Monday that it would not be hearing any cases in person for the month of May. All oral arguments will occur via telephone conference. A statement from the Court said, “In keeping with public health guidance in response to COVID-19, the justices and counsel will all participate remotely.” News media will have access to a live feed of the proceedings.

The court is expected to hear 10 cases next month, including a highly anticipated case about the president’s financial records and how it relates to the separation of powers between the White House and Congress. All cases for March were postponed due to the desire to keep the Justices of the Court safe from the spread of COVID-19.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • That God would keep the Justices of the Court healthy.
  • That the technology implemented for oral arguments would work well.
  • For wisdom for the Justices of the Court as they deliberate on cases they heard in the past.
